Family BBQ’s
Quote from Letty on September 6, 2023, 9:36 amAs we all know, Jameson was a great son, husband, father, and friend. We loved him from the day Ivis introduced him to the family. Ivis is like a sister to me, a daughter to my parents. We wanted the best for her. He was the best!
Marrying Ivis, he married the whole family 😅 So many wonderful memories. I could list them all, but it would be a long list so I’ll keep it short.
I moved to WA in 2014 and every summer I came back to CA for a few weeks to visit family. During those visits, the family BBQ at the Peacock’s in NV became a tradition. My parents, siblings and sometimes a few of our friends would all go crash at the Peacock’s House for a weekend of fun that revolved around Jameson’s cooking 😋 They were the best hosts! Who needs to go to the strip in Vegas when you can have all the fun in one place? Pool, drinks, food, games, and Jameson’s antics!
I got pretty lucky as I visited them a few times a year and would spend a few days at a time at their place. Jameson would pull out steaks, fish, etc… from the back freezer on a weekday and throw them in the Big Green EGG and then he would talk to me about the places he ordered the meat from, about the rubs he bought and sometimes made himself and then I would proceed to ask for recipes and quickly stop him from giving them to me because I rather he just keep making them 😆
He was such a great cook that when I would cook for them I was always a bit nervous about what he would think about my food 😖 he always loved it! My shrimp tacos were his favorite😋He also loved my mom’s enchiladas! Every time they planned a visit to my parents house, my mom would say “tengo que hacerle sus enchiladas a Jameson y bien picosas como a él le gustan” I need to make Jameson his enchiladas and super spicy just how he likes them.
Rumor has it he always ate more than 10 enchiladas in one sitting!
Here are very few pictures of some of his BBQ. He is truly missed. 🩷

You were family to him, and to me, and I will never forget the fun I had being with all of you. Truly some of the best times of my life!
